Natasha M. Hall is an award-winning filmmaker who believes that within the complexities of life’s simplest moments lies the heart of any story. This is her motto as a writer, producer, and editor. Together with Greg Payton, she has produced numerous television treatments, music video concepts, screenplays, and shorts, intended for both online and other mediums. Most recently, Natasha was named as the first place recipient for “Finding Inspiration,” a film she both wrote and edited with Greg Payton in the Sullivan Entertainment Anne of Green Gables Online Film Festival. As a result that film is now distributed nationwide in Canada as part of the DVD box set for the latest film in the Anne collection, Anne of Green Gables: A New Beginning. It stands alongside the work of actresses such as Shirley MaClaine. As part of her professional development, Natasha currently studies at the Vancouver Film School in the Writing for Film and Television program where she received a full scholarship after a winning a coveted competition advertised in Script Magazine.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Natasha was quickly deemed an insightful writer with a flair for visual detail and action, and used her skill in writing and imagination to deal with the hardships of puberty. Natasha had her first poem published titled, “Reach for the Sky,” and received the Editor’s Choice Award from Illiad Press while in high school. An All-American Scholar and member of the United States Achievement Academy, Natasha’s next road stop was Syracuse University, where she held two majors. Receiving a B.A., she dual majored in Television (S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications) and English Textual Studies (School of Liberal Arts), graduating Magna Cum Laude.
During her time there, she edited successful montages, short films, and continued to write short works of fiction. Returning to Brooklyn to teach English at a middle school in the Bronx, she pursued a M.A. in the Teaching of English from Teachers College at Columbia University and is now not only in the process of continuing her professional development at VFS, but is also the co-founder and co-creator of C3 Stories with Greg Payton where she hopes to both write and edit many more wonderful works.
